Kim Parks

Kim Parks is a farmer and photographer from near Battle in East Sussex. For many years now he has been recording the local farming scene on slide film and before that in print format. As well as farming pictures he is also well known for his wildlife and bird photography and regularly gives talks and slideshows on these subjects. For the last three years he has been a great help to us in recording on video many of his local tractors and combines and, as his tractor photographs are so good, we thought it would be great to give some space for his pictures on Tractor Barn Productions website.

We will try and update with more of his pictures when time allows.

Hay making once again and this time Kim has found a really nice International Harvester 956 (see August's tractor of the month for more) rowing up with a lely Hibiscus rake in front of a much newer Case IH Maxxum 115X tractor and Lely Welger RP235 round baler.

Just for a change we thought we would turn the camera on Kim and show him at work on these pages during the 2010 hay and silage season! Here he is with his New Holland 7840 and Welger RP200 round baler dealing with a very, very thin crop of hay for a local farmer. Kim used to do a lot of contracting in the 1970s and 80s and still keeps his hand in to this day!

The 7840 is Kim's main tractor and here it comes out again to do a spot of mowing, this time on his own farm near Battle in East Sussex. He is mowing grass with a Taarup 212 drum mower one evening ready for picking it up with the forage harvester the next day. It was so hot that the grass dryed out too quick if it was mown and left during the day!
